What Is an Email VPS?
An email VPS is a virtual server you use to run your own mail system — Postfix, Dovecot, Mailcow or Mail-in-a-Box — for your domains. You control mailboxes, storage, aliases, spam filtering and retention, with no per-user fees.
Why Only Our USA VPS?
A mail server needs outbound ports 25, 465 and 587 and a reverse DNS (PTR) record that matches its hostname. At VPS.DO, both are available on USA VPS only. Hong Kong and Japan VPS and all dedicated servers block mail ports and do not support rDNS.
Are Ports 25, 465 and 587 Open?
Yes, on USA VPS they are open by default for legitimate, opt-in email. They are blocked on Hong Kong and Japan VPS and on all dedicated servers.
How Do I Set Reverse DNS?
In the client area, set the PTR record of your VPS IP to your mail hostname, such as mail.example.com. The hostname’s A record must point back to the same IP.
Which Mail Server Software Should I Use?
Mailcow for a complete suite with webmail and an admin panel (6 GB RAM or more), Mail-in-a-Box for a simple all-in-one setup (1 GB or more), or Postfix with Dovecot for full control.
Will My Emails Reach the Inbox?
Deliverability depends on correct SPF, DKIM, DMARC and rDNS records and on your sending reputation. Start with low volumes on a new IP and increase gradually.
Can I Send Newsletters or Bulk Email?
Only to recipients who explicitly opted in, with a working unsubscribe link, in line with laws such as CAN-SPAM. Unsolicited bulk email is spam and leads to suspension or termination without refund.
Why Can’t I Use Hong Kong or Japan VPS for Email?
To protect their network reputation, those locations block outbound mail ports and do not offer rDNS. If you need to send email from them, use an external email delivery service.
Is There a Money-Back Guarantee?
Yes. If you’re not happy within the first 7 days, ask for a refund — no questions asked. The refund is available once per customer for each data center location. Accounts registered from the same IP address or paying with the same payment method count as the same customer. Payment fees are deducted as described in our Refund Policy.
